He angitūtanga | The opportunity   

The purpose of the role is to lead the development of infrastructure principles, strategies, and frameworks defining the MAS target infrastructure architectures that are in alignment with MAS's business strategy.

The Infrastructure Architect achieves this by working with the Lead Architect and other subject matter experts to develop a detailed strategic view of the organisation's strategy, processes, information and information technology assets, and documenting key infrastructure components using multiple architectural models and views.

The Infrastructure Architect works closely with the Lead Architect and the IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager, and:

  • Provides techincal advice, support, and strategic development input to the IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager and the wider organisation;
  • Ensures mature infrastructure support processes and models in line with good practice approaches.

He kōrero mōu | Key attributes we are looking for   

We are looking for the following key attributes:

  • Wider IS architecture experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in infrastructure architecture.
  • High quality experience in a structured operations environment with significant exposure to the full lifecycle.
  • 2+ years' exposure/experience working within an Enterprise Architecture Framework.
  • Ability to assess technical viability of proposed enhancements.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining technology domain (infrastructure) strategies and roadmaps. 
  • Experience in leading, mentoring, and co-ordinating the work of a team to successful outcomes. 
  • High levels of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to always bear in mind the total organisational environment and aim to align and intergrate the work of the IT department, specifically within the infrastructure domain with the relevant business environment.
  • Experience in translating strategies and roadmaps into deliverable activities.
  • Ideally a tertiary qualifical in IT/computing, or related field.
  • A focus on continuous improvement.
