We are seeking four independent trustees to help develop the vision, strategy, focus areas and funding approach for MAS Foundation – an exciting new philanthropic initiative to promote health in New Zealand.

Like our Members, MAS has a core value of being ‘Here for Good’ and with this in mind, we are establishing MAS Foundation. The focus of MAS Foundation is funding health research, promotion and education for the benefit of all New Zealanders. Core funding for the Foundation will come from the MAS Group of companies.

We want MAS Foundation to be an innovative funding body that will distinguish itself from other health funding organisations so we are looking for trustees from diverse backgrounds. Our founding trustees will be passionate about health in New Zealand, have strong strategic skills and the ability to think about the big picture, will be from both outside and inside the health sector, and will represent our diverse nation. Governance and start-up experience – particularly in the philanthropic sector – would be a distinct advantage.

We know MAS Members have great networks and we would love your help:

  • promoting this opportunity to your wider networks; or
  • recommending people who would make excellent independent trustees for MAS Foundation.

Please read the Position Brief for more information about MAS Foundation, and the type of people we’re looking to appoint as trustees.

To recommend someone, or to find out more, please contact our Philanthropic Consultant: michelle.wanwimolruk@mas.co.nz.

For more information about MAS Foundation’s development see: www.mas.co.nz/about-mas/charitable-proposal

We strongly believe MAS Foundation has the potential to make a real difference to people’s health in New Zealand. We look forward to bringing it to life.

Applications close 5pm Wednesday 25 September 2019. (To apply, send your CV saved as "surname-initial-CV MAS", and a covering email/letter to foundation@mas.co.nz)
