Āki Photo Competition Prize Terms and Conditions

Medical Assurance Society New Zealand Limited (MAS), PO Box 957, Wellington 6140, is collecting and will hold this information. MAS may use this information to send you marketing and/or promotional material where you have agreed to us doing so. You can access and correct this information under the Privacy Act 2020.  

By entering the MAS Āki photo competition (the Competition) you agree to the following terms and conditions:  

  1. The Promoter of the Prize Draw is Medical Assurance Society New Zealand Limited, 10 Waterloo Quay, PO Box 957, Wellington 6140  
  2. Medical Funds Management Limited (MFM) is the Manager and issuer of MAS Investment Funds. 
  3. The Competition is open to persons who have entered the photo competition though Āki, the MAS Wellbeing Hub.  
  4. MAS and Synergy Health representatives will shortlist the entries. The shortlisted entries will be voted on by the Āki community and the entry with the most votes in each category will win. The finalists for the ‘Joy in Everyday’ category will be shortlisted on 8 January 2026 and the winner announced on 15 January 2026. The finalists for the ‘Nature as Art’ category will be shortlisted on 2 February 2026 and the winner announced on 9 February 2026. 
  5. Only three entries per person, per category will be accepted. 
  6. The winners must meet the criteria set out in these terms.  
  7. The winners will receive a $500 contribution to a MAS Investment Funds account in their name (Prize) and will be notified either by email or phone. 
  8. If a winner is not already a MAS Investment Funds member, they will need to open an account in order to receive the Prize. A winner can do this by reading the MAS Investment Funds Product Disclosure Statement and completing an online application form at Medical Assurance Society - Investment Funds and meeting all customer due diligence requirements.   
  9. The $500 contribution will be made by MAS to MAS Investment Funds account in each winner’s name and in accordance with the selected future investment strategy for the MAS Investment Funds account.  
  10. If a category winner does not claim the Prize within 30 days, the entry with the second highest number of votes will receive the Prize.   
  11. The Prize is not transferable, MAS reserves the right to change the prize drawn, cancel the Prize Draw or exchange the Prize for a similar prize of equivalent value without notice at any time. The Prize cannot be exchanged for cash or other goods. MAS's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. 
  12. By entering the Prize Draw you agree that MAS may use your name and photograph for publicity purposes.  
  13. If a winner does not comply with these terms, MAS reserves the right to withdraw the Prize from that winner.  
  14. MAS does not accept responsibility or liability whatsoever to the winner beyond these terms and conditions.  
  15. Variation: MAS reserves the right to vary any of these terms and conditions at any time without providing notice.
