Medical Assurance Society (MAS) has proudly supported the Artist Doctors’ Concert and Exhibition for 16 years, celebrating another successful event that brought together creativity, community and medical professionals across New Zealand.

Hosted by the New Zealand Association of Artist Doctors (NZAAD), this year‘s event marked the 35th Artist Doctors’ Concert. MAS was principal sponsor for the 16th year, continuing a partnership that began in 2011.

“MAS is delighted to continue supporting this unique and community-focused event,” says Matt Harvey, Chief Distribution & Marketing Officer, MAS. “As a Mutual, we’re committed to supporting our Members and the communities they are part of, and the Artist Doctors’ Concert is a powerful expression of both.”

The NZAAD was formed in 1989 to foster creativity among members of the medical profession, bringing together practitioners across all branches of medicine and surgery. Its events combine art, craft, and stage performances, offering doctors the opportunity to realise lifelong creative ambitions while strengthening community connections. Over the years, the association has built a vibrant platform where medical professionals can share their talents, collaborate across disciplines, and bring joy to audiences.

The 2026 concert took place at the Aurora Centre, Burnside High School, on Saturday 2 May, featuring a diverse programme of individual and small group performances, alongside a Spanish-themed orchestral and choir finale. These performances highlight the breadth of talent among New Zealand’s medical professionals, from painting and sculpture to music and theatrical arts.

“The Artist Doctors’ Concert is more than a performance; it’s a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and community,” says Harvey. “It showcases the immense and varied talents of medical professionals while strengthening the connections that underpin thriving communities. We’re proud to stand behind an initiative that reflects these values.”

MAS remains committed to supporting initiatives that enrich the lives of its Members and the wider communities they serve.
