MAS is pleased to announce the appointment of two internal leaders to its Executive Leadership Team, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to developing talent from within and delivering on its strategic priorities.
Matthew Ineson has been appointed Chief Transformation Officer (CTO), and Hayden Saunders has been appointed Chief People Officer (CPO), both effective 7 April 2026.
These appointments come at a pivotal time for MAS, as the organisation accelerates delivery of its business transformation programme and continues to evolve its offering for Members.
MAS Chief Executive Officer Jo McCauley said the appointments reflect the strength of internal talent and the organisation’s focus on long-term capability building.
“Bringing strong talent through the organisation is a priority for MAS and a key part of our broader investment in capability. Matthew and Hayden both bring a blend of deep institutional and domain knowledge and proven leadership, and their appointments ensure we are well positioned to deliver strongly for our Members now and into the future.”
Matthew Ineson has played a central role in shaping and advancing MAS’s transformation agenda, with deep expertise in programme delivery and organisational change. As Chief Transformation Officer, he will lead the execution of the business transformation programme and oversee key strategic initiatives.
“I’m excited to step into this role at such an important point for MAS,” said Ineson. “Across the board MAS is strengthening how we serve our Members, I’m looking forward to being part of this and working with the Executive and wider teams to deliver meaningful, lasting change.”
Hayden Saunders brings extensive experience in people strategy, culture, and HR operations. As Chief People Officer, he will lead MAS’s people and capability agenda, ensuring the organisation continues to attract, develop and retain the talent needed to deliver its strategy.
“MAS has a strong people-first culture, and I’m proud to be part of shaping what comes next,” said Saunders. “We have a real opportunity to build capability, support our people to thrive, and ensure we are set up to deliver on our ambitions.”
McCauley said both leaders would play a critical role as MAS enters the next phase of its evolution.
“We are at a crucial junction in our journey, with our digital modernisation programme now well underway. Having leaders like Matthew and Hayden join the Executive brings the right mix of continuity, insight and momentum as we move forward.”
