Jewellery and bicycles are covered to a limit of $8,000, personal health items are covered to a limit of $10,000 and any other sports, portable electronic equipment or musical instruments are covered to a limit of $5,000.
Watercrafts less than 4 meters are covered up to $2,000 and any non-portable items and artworks are covered to a limit of $25,000.
Any items over these amounts will need to be specified on your policy.
When you make a claim under your Contents Policy, you will pay a compulsory excess towards the cost of your repairs.
In addition to this compulsory excess, you can choose to add a voluntary excess to your policy. If you have chosen this option and you make a claim under your policy, you will pay the compulsory excess and your voluntary excess, and we will pay the balance of the claim.
If you add a voluntary excess to your policy it may reduce the cost of your annual premium.
If the period of storage is less than 6 months and in a professional storage facility, you are covered automatically under your contents policy, please see the policy wording here. If your contents are going to be stored for more than 6 months or are being stored in private storage – please complete an application here.
