Medical Assurance Society New Zealand Limited (MAS), PO Box 957, Wellington 6140, is collecting and will hold this information. MAS may use this information to send you marketing and/or promotional material where you have agreed to us doing so. You can access and correct this information under the Privacy Act 2020.

By entering the MAS O-Week prize draw (the Prize Draw), you agree to the following terms and conditions: 

  1. The promoter of the Prize Draw is Medical Assurance Society New Zealand Limited (MAS), PO Box 957, Wellington 6140. The prize draw is open from 9 February 2026 and closes on 10 March 2026.

  2. The Prize Draw is open to persons who:
    1. are studying for a degree at the University of Auckland or the University of Otago in 2026
    2. have subscribed to Join The Conversation email series

  3. Each entry is limited to one per person.

  4. The winner will be drawn on 11 March 2026 by a MAS representative. The winner will be a randomly selected person who meets the Prize Draw criteria.

  5. The winner will receive a $500 contribution paid into a MAS Investment Funds account ('the Prize' or the ‘MAS Contribution’) and will be notified either by email or phone as provided in the Prize Draw form.

  6. If the winner does not claim the Prize in 5 days, the Prize will be redrawn in accordance with these terms.

  7. MAS is solely responsible for making the MAS Contribution in accordance with these terms and conditions.

  8. MAS will aim to make the MAS Contribution in the month following the date the winner is notified.

  9. To receive a MAS Contribution, you must be an account holder of a MAS Investment Funds account.

  10. If you are not already an account holder, you must open a MAS Investment Funds account to receive the Prize.

  11. You can do this by reading the MAS Investment Funds Product Disclosure Statement and completing an application form, either using the form at the back of the PDS or via the online application form available at MAS Investment Funds

  12. To become a member of MAS Investment Funds you must meet all eligibility criteria, including completing an application form and satisfying all customer due diligence requirements for new accounts prior to the MAS Contribution being made. MFM or MAS may request additional documentation to verify eligibility.

  13. The MAS Contribution will be made in accordance with the selected future investment strategy for the MAS Investment Funds account.

  14. Where MAS is unable to confirm that the winner has set up a MAS Investment Funds account in their name, MAS will endeavour to remind you to provide this nomination. If MAS needs further information to make the MAS Contribution, MAS will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If MAS is unable to contact the winner within 60 days of the Prize being drawn, MAS will not be liable to make a MAS Contribution.

  15. Members are able to withdraw funds from their MAS Investment Funds account in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Funds.

  16. The Prize is not transferable. MAS may cancel the Prize Draw or exchange the Prize for a similar prize of equivalent value without notice at any time. The Prize cannot be exchanged for other goods. MAS's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  17. Employees of MAS and its related companies (and their immediate families) are not eligible to enter this Prize Draw.

  18. By entering the Prize Draw you agree that MAS may use your name and photograph for publicity purposes.

  19. MAS does not accept responsibility or liability whatsoever to the winner beyond these terms and conditions.

  20. Variation: MAS reserves the right to vary any of these terms and conditions at any time without providing notice.
