MAS has been named Consumer People’s Choice for House, Contents and Car insurance for the tenth consecutive year – a milestone that highlights a decade of trust from Members.

In the latest Consumer NZ survey, MAS recorded the highest satisfaction scores for house insurance (81%), contents insurance (80%) and car insurance (84%), with 96% of car insurance respondents saying they were satisfied overall. These results reinforce MAS’s reputation for providing cover that works when it matters most.

Members say MAS stands out for offering insurance that is easy to understand, tailored to individual needs and fairly priced. MAS’s service and support is often singled out for making a real difference – particularly when Members are navigating an insurance claim.

MAS Chief Executive Jo McCauley says the recognition is a testament to the relationship MAS has with its Members.

“Being voted People’s Choice for 10 years running is incredibly meaningful because it comes from the people we exist to serve. It shows our Members feel supported, confident and listened to.”

“Our focus has always been on long-term relationships, not short-term wins. We want to provide insurance that genuinely protects our Members when they need it most while being honest and transparent if circumstances fall outside what cover can provide.”

Consumer NZ Chief Executive Jon Duffy says MAS’s consistency sets it apart in the market.

“To be recognised year after year shows MAS is meeting consumers’ expectations where it counts – delivering clarity, value and service people can rely on, particularly during times when building and maintaining trust is so critical.”

The People’s Choice recognition is based on Consumer NZ’s annual customer satisfaction survey, which gathered feedback from 4,795 respondents from a nationally representative sample of New Zealanders.

Overall satisfaction reflects respondents who rated their experience between 8 and 10 out of 10, classed as “very satisfied”. A rating of 6 to 10 is counted as “satisfied”.
