MAS is proud to announce a new partnership with Hato Hone St John, as the major sponsor of their life-saving 3 Steps for Life programme.
According to Hato Hone St John, in the past year more than 2,000 New Zealanders have experienced a cardiac arrest in our communities. The 3 Steps for Life programme teaches simple, effective steps that can help save lives, empowering individuals to support their whānau, friends and communities when it matters most.
This 3-year collaboration will significantly expand the reach and impact of 3 Steps for Life, enabling more people across Aotearoa New Zealand to gain the confidence and knowledge to act in a cardiac arrest.
“We’re honoured to join forces with Hato Hone St John to support a vital initiative that equips New Zealanders with essential life-saving skills,” says Matt Harvey, MAS Chief Distribution and Marketing Officer.
“As a mutual, dedicated to protecting and growing the financial wellbeing of New Zealanders, this partnership reflects our broader commitment to the health and resilience of our communities.
“It’s a meaningful alignment of values, and we’re proud to help more people gain the confidence and skills to step in and save a life when it counts.
“That’s why we’ll also be providing our staff with the opportunity to attend a training session, helping to increase the number of people within our communities who have these life-saving skills.”
Jacci Tatnell, National Manager Community Education at Hato Hone St John, says the partnership is a game-changer. “Our collaboration with MAS strengthens our ability to deliver 3 Steps for Life to more people across the motu.
“Together, we’re building on the success of campaigns like Shocktober and our Annual Appeal to create lasting impact.”
This collaboration is a proud moment for MAS. It's a true reflection of our founding roots in the medical profession, as we were started by doctors to support their colleagues. This partnership is a powerful example of our core values in action and our ongoing dedication to making a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders.
