MAS and Hato Hone St John are united by a shared purpose, helping New Zealanders stay protected, informed and empowered, whether in moments of medical emergency or in making long-term financial decisions.

We're proud to partner with Hato Hone St John as the Major Sponsor of 3 Steps for Life. This programme is a free, 1-hour CPR and AED education session that equips everyday New Zealanders with the confidence and skills to act swiftly in the event of a cardiac arrest.

Together, we aim to have:

  • 30,000+ people participate in the 3 Steps for Life programme each year
  • CPR education delivered to 15,000+ Kiwis during Shocktober
  • reached more than 80 communities with these life-saving skills
  • MAS Members and staff as active participants in the programme.

Shocktober

Free CPR training across Aotearoa New Zealand

Every October, Hato Hone St John runs Shocktober, a nationwide campaign teaching thousands of New Zealanders how to save a life.

Through free, one-hour 3 Steps for Life sessions, you’ll learn CPR and how to use an AED (defibrillator), giving you the confidence to act quickly if someone suffers a cardiac arrest. During Shocktober, Hato Hone St John and MAS aim to educate more than 15,000 Kiwis with these lifesaving skills.
