You can contribute to your KiwiSaver account automatically through your employer, by making voluntary contributions or through Inland Revenue.
Contributions we receive are generally processed within 5 business days.
Automatic contributions
If you’re employed, you’ll make contributions to your KiwiSaver account from your salary or wages.
There are many contribution rates to choose from:
- 3%
 - 4%
 - 6%
 - 8%
 - 10%
 
The minimum contribution rate is 3%.
Changing your contribution rate is easy – you’ll need to let your employer know in writing. You will need to fill in a KS2 form available from ird.govt.nz
Voluntary contributions
You can make contributions to your KiwiSaver account through online banking or Inland Revenue.
Online banking
It’s easy to make one-off or regular payments to your investment account using online banking. You
should find the MAS KiwiSaver Scheme as a registered bill payee in online banking, simply search
for the product name. Or you can enter the following bank account details:

Inland Revenue
You can contribute to your KiwiSaver account using the ‘Pay Tax’ option in your bank’s online banking facility.
- Log in to your online banking select ‘make a tax payment’.
 - Enter your IRD number and how much you would like to contribute.
 - Make sure the tax type is ‘KSS’.
 - Choose period ‘0’.
