MAS has appointed Jo McCauley as its new Chief Executive Officer, with Jo set to join the mutual on Monday 4 August 2025. The appointment follows an extensive recruitment process to find the right leader to guide MAS into its next phase, after the interim leadership provided by Suzanne Wolton.
Jo is currently CEO of Southern Cross Travel Insurance (SCTI). Jo has a general insurance and consumer finance background leading marketing, sales and product teams in the UK and New Zealand. Recent experience includes leading the technology transformation program to support further growth at SCTI.
Jo is a people person who will bring passion and humility to the role and strongly appreciates the need to balance Member and commercial interests.
Jo stated, “This is an exciting opportunity to lead an organisation with such a heart and belief in its Member model and products. It is a real privilege to be able to guide MAS through the next few years of transformation, and I am so looking forward to meeting the team and understanding more about the fantastic things we are planning on doing to support our Members into the future.”
MAS Chair Brett Sutton said the Board is delighted to welcome Jo to the mutual.
“Jo brings a rare combination of leadership experience, commercial insight and strong people skills. We are excited to work with Jo as we build on a strong FY25 result and invest further in technology and service enhancements for our Members,” he said.
He also thanked Suzanne Wolton for her contribution adding, “I would like to sincerely thank Suzanne for her purpose-led, values-based leadership, which contributed to MAS’s high-quality strategic, operational and financial outcomes over the past 12 months”.
Members will hear more about MAS’s strategic direction and technology initiatives in the Annual Report and at the Annual General Meeting in August.
