We welcome the appointment of experienced actuary and company director Jennifer Lang to our Board, effective 1 April 2026.

Jennifer will also take on the role of Chair of the Board’s Audit and Risk Committee. She succeeds long-serving Board member Lindsay Knowles, who will step down from the Board by the 2026 AGM.

MAS Chair Dr. Doug Hill says Jennifer brings deep financial services, governance and risk expertise to MAS at an important time for the organisation.

“Jennifer is a highly respected actuary and director with extensive experience across insurance, financial services and governance,” Hill says.

“She has held senior executive roles including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Actuary at CommInsure and today serves on a number of boards where she chairs audit and risk committees. Her expertise in financial oversight, risk management and strategy will be a valuable addition to the MAS Board.”

Jennifer currently holds several non-executive director roles, including at Pacific Life Re Australia, Auto & General Insurance and Medical Insurance Group Australia (MIGA), and previously served as a partner at Deloitte and KPMG. She was named Actuary of the Year in 2020 in recognition of her contribution to the profession.

Hill says her strong background in governance and risk oversight makes her well suited to lead the MAS Audit and Risk Committee.

“Jennifer’s actuarial background, combined with her extensive board experience, will strengthen MAS’s governance and risk management as we continue to evolve our services for Members.”

Jennifer says she is looking forward to contributing to MAS’s purpose and supporting its Members.

“MAS has a long history of serving professionals and their communities, and I am pleased to be joining the Board at a time when the organisation continues to grow and adapt,” she says.

“I look forward to working with the Board and management to support MAS’s strategy and ensure the organisation continues to deliver strong outcomes for its Members.”

Hill also acknowledges outgoing director Lindsay Knowles for his significant contribution to MAS during his tenure on the Board.

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Lindsay for his dedication and service to MAS,” Hill says.

“Lindsay has made an important contribution to the Board over many years, bringing valuable insight, sound judgement and a strong commitment to MAS and our Members. We are grateful for the role he has played in supporting the organisation’s governance and strategic direction.”

Knowles continues to serve on the Board until the AGM to support a smooth transition.
